# Hello Again, World! My name is Tyler Cyert. I’m an IT professional with nearly a decade of experience. Like many in my field, I’ve spent countless hours in front of screens—for both work and pleasure. While I deeply respect the incredible advancements technology has brought to humanity, I’ve also come to realize how much it has diminished certain aspects of my human experience. About four years ago, I began to notice a kind of atrophy—what I call the weakening of my human muscle. The catalyst was a shift in my behavior that coincided with the rise of short-form video platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. These bite-sized videos never made me feel engaged, informed, or fulfilled. Instead, I consistently walked away from scrolling sessions feeling hollow and disconnected from myself. Since then, I’ve made conscious changes. I’ve removed all mobile apps that encourage this kind of passive consumption. I still allow myself to access these platforms on my laptop or iPad, where the barrier to endless scrolling is just high enough to keep my habits intentional. This blog is a space where I’ll be documenting small lifestyle changes like these—my journey toward a more minimal, mindful, and human way of living in an increasingly digital world.
